Deal with your game obsessed boyfriend!

Ladies, it’s time to turn the tables on your men!

Whenever I visited my boyfriend at home, nothing struck me with more terror than to see his gaming console on.

I don’t mean to sound needy, but there’s nothing more boring than to passively watch someone else play games.

Thank goodness those days are over.

With the dominance of casual gaming through smart phones and portable gaming devices, the time for us women has finally arrived. We have games that are designed with us in mind. Best thing is: the men just don’t get it.

History Lesson: Ms. Pacman Made This All Possible

The first game that was designed for women was ‘Ms. Pacman’, released in 1981 by Midway. I wouldn’t say it was particularly creative – all it did was stick a ribbon on Pacman’s head. (Related Post: Living Legacies: How Games From the Past Are Influencing Your Life Today)

But Ms. Pacman helped women everywhere take their first steps into gaming.

It was a simpler time then.

Maybe something as small as that made us feel remembered and appreciated.

At first, such games might seem a little fluffy, but beneath the candy-coated exterior lies gameplay far more complex than we imagine – easy to learn, but difficult to master.

Playing Hard to Get: Make Him Fight for Your Attention

So turn the tables on your men, ladies. When they’re desperate for your attention, play hard to get, and vent your own frustrations on Whack a Zombie instead.

How’s that, for giving him a taste of his own medicine?
