Pandas join the video game revolution

China’s panda bears are among the world’s most beloved mammals, and with good reason. With their heavyset bodies and their piercing black eyes, the huge creatures can bring a smile to even the hardest of souls.

In fact, the whole world seems to have been caught by the panda craze, and Singapore is no exception.

2009 reports stated that Singapore will be loaned two of China’s most prized treasures for a 10-year period, which begins in 2011. A celebration of excellent relations between the two nations, the loan is a gift from China and their President: Hu Jintao.

Unfortunately, many Singaporeans will be dismayed to hear that they won’t be able to meet the (as yet unnamed) pandas until 2012, when the River Safari makes its debut.
